«The destruction of wages and jobs affects both the public and private sectors», stated Aguiar. In this context, the leader added: «On the one hand, there is the struggle in the streets to finally repeal a labor reform that we cannot leave in the hands of a Supreme Court subservient to power, and on the other, the need to build a program».
This union front came to prominence months ago with protests and strikes against the labor reform promoted and approved by the government of Javier Milei.
Buenos Aires, April 3 (NA) — «Hardline» unionists distanced from the leadership of the CGT who make up the United Front of Unions (FreSU) will hold a plenary session on the upcoming May 1, Labor Day, to further deepen their differentiated agenda and greater opposition to the Government.
«We have defined the holding of a plenary session that will bring together more than 1,500 delegates from all the organizations that make up the Front. The meeting must be the first step in the development of a program for the labor movement for the country», stated Rodolfo Aguiar, head of ATE.
The meeting will be held at the recreational camp that the Argentine Workers' Metallurgical Union (UOM) has in the Buenos Aires Aires district of Pilar, confirmed the Argentine News Agency (NA).
FreSU, which includes unions from the CGT and both CTA federations, such as UOM, Aceiteros, Aeronáuticos and ATE, met days ago at the headquarters of the Argentine Mill Workers' Union (UOMA) and decided to call the May 1 plenary session of delegates.
«It must serve to continue strengthening and consolidating FreSU. We have to meet, we have to come together because we all suffer from the austerity measures».
